Library Resumes Curbside Pickup and Drop-Off May 20
On Wednesday, May 20, Easton Public Library will begin to offer curbside pickup for its residents. This service will be available Monday through Friday from 10am-5pm. Most Library staff members will continue to work from home, with a skeleton crew working in the building to fulfill patrons’ requests. Patrons will be able to call the Library at 203-261-0134 or email a request to email@example.com.
When the materials are ready, a staff member will notify the patron and assign a time slot for the pickup. Materials will be placed in paper bags, labeled by last name. The bags will be placed on tables in front of the Library. All patrons picking up curbside materials must wear a mask and must be asymptomatic. Check the Library’s website early next week for more details.
The outside book drop will also reopen on May 20. Patrons are asked to wipe down their materials before returning them. Any fines accrued during this time will be forgiven, and the Library Board of Trustees has adopted a new policy to eliminate fines, on a trial basis, from now until December 31. The fines policy will be reassessed at that time.
The Library would like to congratulate the winners of Family Trivia Night, Ellen and Katherine Waugh! Great job, Ladies! All participants played well and enjoyed a fun evening.
The Library will hold a Virtual Social Media Workshop on Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm. Library Assistant Shannon Bruchal will present a tutorial on Facebook and Instagram. There will also be a Virtual Family Bingo Night on Tuesday, May 26 at 6:30pm. To register for these or other virtual programs, visit eastonlibrary.org.
Finally, Easton’s Oral History Project is recruiting participants now! Students in Grades 5 and up who would like to conduct interviews, as well as longtime Easton residents who would like to be interviewed, should email Library Assistant Kevin Krug at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, students in Grades 4 and under can contribute to this project as well. Submit a drawing or a written entry, symbolizing your favorite thing about Easton or a favorite Easton memory. These will be put together into a slideshow to be displayed on the Library’s website. These entries may be submitted to email@example.com.
