A special benefit is being planned for an Easton woman who is in treatment for ovarian cancer.  Funds raised at the event will help with her medical expenses for her ongoing treatments.  What is being dubbed as “A Concert for Noreen Forde” will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Gaelic-American Club, 74 Beach Road, Fairfield. The event is open to the public.

John Foley of Easton, vice president of the Gaelic-American Club, is spearheading the event with a cadre of Noreen friends. “Noreen is a beloved member of our community so we want to show our support for her at this concert,” said Foley.  “As Noreen heals from her ovarian cancer treatments, the last thing we want her to worry about is her medical bills so this event will help a lot.”

The program will feature musical acts including The McLean Avenue Band, The Jolly Beggars, CAMAC and Ceol agus Craic. There will be a special performance by the Lenihan Academy of Irish Dance. Donations are being accepted for admission with recommended amounts being $25, $50 and $100. There will be a cash bar, food available for purchase with desserts provided including a Soda Bread Tasting.
