SUMMARY:TUNNEL TO TOWERS 9/11 INSTITUTE™ 9/11 NEVER FORGET MOBILE EXHIBIT August 8th and 9th!
DESCRIPTION:The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit is a tribute to all who lost their lives on September 11\, 2001\, including the 343 members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) who made the ultimate sacrifice\, and all who continue to lose their lives to 9/11-related illnesses. This high-tech\, 83-foot tractor-trailer\, which transforms into a 1\,100-square-foot exhibit\, is a tool to further educate people across the country about the events of that tragic day. \nWelcomed around the nation\, from the Black Hills of South Dakota to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds\, the memorial provides interactive education\, including artifacts such as steel beams from the towers\, documentary videos\, and recordings of first responder radio transmissions. Interactive guided tours are conducted by FDNY firefighters\, who provide firsthand accounts of the day and its aftermath. The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit\, which has traveled to nearly 50 states and Canada\, has educated over 1 million people to date. It will be in Easton\, Connecticut\, at the Congregational Church on August 8th and 9th for viewings. This is a free event brought to Connecticut by the Staples Academy Foundation and its community partners. \nMark your calendars! SUMMARY:2025 Easton Memorial Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Easton Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday\, May 26th. The Parade will begin at the Easton Fire Station at 9:30 am and end at the Town Hall. Following the parade\, there will be a ceremony honoring those who gave their lives defending America and our freedoms. Isabel Mariani will sing the National Anthem and God Bless America\, and the opening invocation and closing benediction will be provided by local church leaders. After the ceremony\, short remembrances will be held at the Easton Cemeteries. All are welcome. For more information\, please contact town hall or Don Rogerson\, Post Commander\, at 203-209-1402. (On May 24th\, the Girl Scouts\, Boy Scouts\, and anyone who wishes to volunteer will be placing flags on graves starting at 9:30 am at Union Cemetery\, then Aspetuck Cemetery.) This is a great community event where we all get together and display our sense of community after the parade. It is a big event for our young people\, and most of all honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
