Easton’s Here to Help (EHTH), the town’s coalition promoting best practices in substance abuse prevention and mental health, and the Easton Police Department have teamed up to host “Cultivating Emotional Stability for Teens,” a webinar to help parents work with their children to build emotional resilience in an increasingly complicated terrain.
Dr. Aaron Wiener , an addiction specialist and licensed clinical psychologist, will host the Zoom session on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m.. Weiner will talk about how to cultivate emotional stability for teens by enhancing structure, connection and confidence.
“Even before the pandemic, the impact of social media, gun violence, and other factors caused elevated rates of depression and anxiety in youth and young adults. In 2020, children faced social isolation and academic disruption, some lost caregivers and loved ones to COVID-19, families lost jobs, and lives became increasingly unstable in a short amount of time,” EHTH stated in a press release. “As a parent or caregiver, it can be difficult to know where to start, and how to create a sense of stability for our children during a very unstable time.”
