Hope and Healing in the Holy Land

Jerusalem Peacebuilders, an interfaith non-profit organization, will visit Easton to share its vision for peace and understanding across all faiths based in Jerusalem.

On May 19, the Rev. Canon Nicholas Porter, founding director of Jerusalem Peacebuilders, will be offering an adult forum from 11 a.m. to noon at Christ Church Easton, 59 Church Road. Porter, a graduate of Yale Divinity School, has served as the chaplain to the Anglican Archbishop of Jerusalem and formed Jerusalem Peacebuilders for the reconciliation of Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Druze peoples in Jerusalem.

Peacebuilders’ mission is to create a better future for humanity across religions, cultures, and identities. Integral to that mission is the belief that the future of Jerusalem is the future of the world. To that end, Jerusalem Peacebuilders promotes transformational, person-to-person encounters among the people of Jerusalem, Israel, Palestine, and the United States. Porter states that “We take away the fears by exposure to different faiths and cultures.”

We are excited to be able to host Canon Porter and bring his vision to Easton. It is a mission of one spirit and one world that we hold dear at our church as we seek to build bridges across communities and peoples.

A question-and-answer session will follow Porter’s presentation. Refreshments and baked goods will be served. Please join us for this inspiring and informative look at Peacebuilders efforts to touch and inspire all inhabitants of Jerusalem build their peaceful future.
