Unofficial Results: Easton Voters Approve Budgets and Lease Agreement

Voters on Tuesday went to Samuel Staples Elementary School to vote on the town of Easton and the Regional School District 9 budget, and to approve the lease with the New England Prayer Center.

Following are the unofficial results of the May 7 referendum posted to the Town of Easton website.

1. Shall the Town of Easton appropriate the sum of $49,967,940 for the annual budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025? (This includes Easton’s share of the Region No. 9 budget.)

YES: 570 NO: 130
Passed

2. Shall the Regional School District No. 9, composed of the Towns of Easton and Redding, appropriate and authorize the expenditure of $25,407,041 as the operating budget of the district for the period of July 1 2024 to June 30, 2025? (Easton’s share is $13,419,999 and Redding’s share is $11,987,042).

YES: 564 NO: 135

3. Shall the Town of Easton approve the lease agreement with the New England Prayer Center?

YES: 484 NO: 203
