Profile

Chris Peritore

Christopher Peritore is a life-long Easton resident who is seeking to represent Weston, Redding, and Easton as the state Representative for the 135th District. He has previously served as a Constable for the town of Easton and as a member of the town’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force. In 2024, Peritore served as the Assistant Clerk on the Appropriations Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly.

Peritore grew up in Easton, attending Easton and Region 9 public schools K-10 and finished his high schooling at Notre-Dame Fairfield, and now is attending classes at Norwalk Community College. Chris also believes that we must defend the watershed as well as fight for affordability across the state!

Statement

Hi, my name is Chris Peritore and it’s an honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to run for State Representative in the 135th District. Over the past few months, I’ve enjoyed the experience of meeting the great people of Easton, Redding, and Weston at their doors, social functions, and community events. I had the privilege of growing up in this town and state for my whole life, I’ve gone to all of the public schools, played in the Easton Little League, and had the opportunity to sit on boards in town. In my 23 years of life, I’ve been able to soak in and embrace the true essence of our beautiful town, and it’s that very essence and sense of community-based focus that I will bring to Hartford as your State Representative.

The question of why I’m running for office as a 23-year-old in this political climate has been asked quite frequently since I first decided to run in late April. The reason I’m running is to be able to properly represent this district and bring community issues and ideas to Hartford rather than just vote party line or on an activist agenda. When I get elected I plan to have monthly, district-wide forums where constituents have the ability to share and raise concerns rather than having one public forum before and after the legislative session (which is the current norm) because I want the constituents of the 135th to have an active voice and ability to give their opinion on legislation that is going through the system. In an age where we get caught up in party politics, I plan to be a fresh face who will buck the trend and fight for my constituents as an Independent, not bound to one major party or another. I love the people who live in this district and will fight for their interests every day in Hartford.

I believe that Easton voters should vote for me because as a lifelong resident of this town, I understand their values and beliefs. I will bring a fresh and innovative perspective to Hartford, and as a young person who wants to keep living in our beautiful town and state I have a vested interest and will fight for affordability for people like me who want to keep living here and older folks who don’t want to get priced out of the place they built their life in. The main focus of my campaign will be the community and getting your perspective on important issues and learning more about what you care about because this campaign isn’t about me, it’s about you!
