Anyone can stop by Simonelli’s office in the Senior Center to choose a tag from the tree. It lists specific items that will be delivered to seniors in the community.

Simonelli said there are plenty of tags to be taken from the tree. The tags contain items that are simple and applicable to anyone regardless of gender such as blankets, socks, crossword and Sudoku books, and boxes of tea.

Since this is Simonelli’s first time organizing a giving tree, he has chosen small and simple gift options. He hopes to receive enough gifts to bring to 12 or 15 seniors in town.

The tree will be up until Dec. 17. If you’re unable to visit the Senior Center to select a tag, you can call Simonelli at 203-268-1137, and he will share the details of the remaining tags over the phone.

For those who cannot drop off gifts at the Senior Center, located at 650 Morehouse Road, before it closes at 3:30 p,m, gifts can be left at the main desk in Town Hall. Simonelli asks that the tags accompany the gifts so he can divide them appropriately.

The gift items will be delivered to seniors on Dec. 19 and 20. If you have any questions, you are invited to stop by the Senior Center or call Simonelli at  203-268-1137.
