Little did Kiersten Ring know that an oversized peace sign she purchased during the holiday season would resonate with her neighbors. This past holiday season, Ring found inspiration for a new display of lights.

“There is a house in town on Glovers Lane that has a giant peace sign in the front yard,” she said. It’s a permanent installation, and I have always loved that and decided to put a peace sign up for at least the holidays.”
Ring wanted to look out her window at pretty lights with a kind message. Setting it up was not difficult either. “It’s made of PVC, and it was really easy to wrap lights around it,” she said. “During the day it’s difficult to see but at night it’s bright and stands out in the dark woods.”
Ring wasn’t trying to make a statement; she simply wanted a well-lit display to view from her Delaware Road home. However, when she asked neighbors and fellow Easton residents on Facebook whether she should keep the peace sign up beyond the holidays, the response was a resounding yes.
“We absolutely love the newly added peace sign lawn ornament,” said Kristin Falzone. “It’s not only beautiful to look at but serves as a reminder to prioritize what is truly important. It is my hope that the Ring family will keep the peace sign shining brightly over our neighborhood year round.”
When asked if she is interested in expanding her lights, Ring seemed very open to the idea.
“I might add more peace signs in different colors and sizes but would like to see how this one looks once all the leaves come in,” she said. “it might not be very visible. Peace is a message for all times I think, past, present and future.”
