Library Presents a Beginner’s Course on the Dos and Don’ts of Foraging

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to recognize edible plants and mushrooms in your backyard or while hiking? On Wednesday, August 20, at 7 p.m., presenter Gina Pagano will explain how to forage ethically and sustainably, as well as what to do and what not to do. Focusing on Connecticut, she will discuss a few items that are easy to identify and find each season. She will also try to bring a few samples for participants to try.

Pagano has been foraging for over ten years. She is a veterinary technician by day but hopes to eventually use her foraging, gardening, and preserving skills to teach and own her own business. She’s an avid hiker and camper, and loves cats.
