Easton Senior Center to Host Program on Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia

The public is invited to attend an educational program on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia at the Easton Senior Center.

The program, “Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia,” will be held Thursday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Easton Senior Center at 650 Morehouse Road.

The session will focus on the differences between Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as risk factors, current research and available treatments. Organizers emphasize that Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging, but a disease of the brain that affects memory, thinking and behavior.

Refreshments will be provided by Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center and Ludlowe Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Space is limited and advance registration is required. To register, contact Daniel Simonelli at 203-268-1137 or by email at dsimonelli@eastonct.gov.

The program is presented in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, a worldwide voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The association’s mission is to lead efforts to end Alzheimer’s and other dementias through research, risk reduction, early detection and quality care and support.

More information is available at alz.org or by calling the association’s 24/7 helpline at 800-272-3900.
