Woodmont Amateur Radio Association Hosts Field Day

Ham radio operators, also known as hams, from the Woodmont Amateur Radio Association (WARA) in Milford, CT (WARA) will be participating in American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day June 24-25 at Trubee Doolittle Park (Corner of Wall Street and Beach Avenue, Milford).

The public is invited to visit from 2-6 P.M. on Saturday, June 24. Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June, about 40,000 hams throughout the United States and Canada set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Numerous forms of radio communication will be in use and there will be opportunities to get
on the air and experience this exciting hobby firsthand. For more information about this event, visit http://www.WARA.club
