Residents and business owners who endured losses can begin applying for assistance. Affected parties are able to receive this assistance by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov, or calling 800-621-FEMA (3362). They can also use the FEMA app, FEMA app.

“Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster,” according to the press release.

Biden has also approved funding for the implementation of hazard mitigation measures across the state, according to the press release.

Shortly after the flooding, Lamont submitted a formal request to Biden seeking a major disaster declaration to secure federal assistance for affected communities. Easton homeowners and businesses were urged to report flood damage to help secure the federal assistance.

Connecticut is still working on finding locations where affected parties can receive in-person assistance with their disaster recovery plans. Once a location has been identified, a new announcement will be issued.
