At this the most holy season of this year and all the years, I write as pastor on behalf of Jesse Lee United Methodist Church. I wish all of you the peace and blessings of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.

We have almost completed the four weeks of Advent symbolizing Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.  Advent is a time of longing and waiting for who is to come and when. Of course, now we know how the story begins and how it ends, but I often think of the folks who waited those 2,000-plus years ago. Those folks did not know the story, yet they believed that a messiah was coming to offer them salvation; these folks waited fervently, hoping for a messiah to make their world better. Those in power waited fearfully that perhaps the messiah would pose a challenge to their power, and we know he did. And we know the outcome.

At this most holy time, I pray for a world that only knows peace. We at Jesse Lee UMC wish for all in Easton and the entire world, no matter where or how you worship or even if you don’t, we wish you PEACE. So from my congregation to all congregations in Easton and over all the world, we pray for peace on earth and good will to all. Lord in your tender mercy, hear our prayer.

We wish you a merry Christmas and joyous New Year and God’s blessings in abundance. We invite you to come visit us at Jesse Lee this season and all seasons.
