The Easton Lions, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, honosr the legacy of former Easton resident Helen Keller by funding charities that benefit people with vision impairment. Keller was the first deaf and blind person to earn a bachelor’s degree in the United States. She went on to champion human rights as an activist and was a founder of the American Civil Liberties Union.
June 27 was proclaimed Helen Keller Day, a commemorative holiday, by presidential decree in 2006. The Lions Club International have been celebrating Helen Keller Day since 1971. This year marks the 145th anniversary of her birth.

The club gathers once a month at local restaurants, offering a chance to connect with like-minded members of the community while supporting those in need. You don’t have to live in Easton to join.
