Westport Country Playhouse extends a cordial invitation to the Easton community to attend a performance of the Pulitzer Prize winning drama Primary Trust on Friday, April 24 at 8 pm.

“Easton Night” will be hosted by Easton residents Claire Wilkes and Paige S. Couture, who are both members of the Westport Country Playhouse Board of Trustees. Their vision was to create a chance for Easton residents to celebrate the arts, foster community connections, and experience the magic of live theatre at the historic playhouse.

“Building on the success of our first Easton Night event last year, we’re thrilled to create another opportunity for our Easton friends and neighbors to come together,” Wilkes said.

The pre-show reception will include light refreshments and a raffle of local items. Mark Shanahan, the Playhouse’s Artistic Director, will also give a brief chat about the play.

Primary Trust, written by Eboni Booth, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2024. Kenneth is a man of routine whose life is thrown off when he loses his long-time job. With a push from his best friend Bert and some new faces at the local tiki bar, he slowly starts to open up to change. The play is a warm, and uplifting story about friendship, small steps, and the people who help us grow.

Easton residents are encouraged to secure their tickets early for this special night of live performance and community spirit. The show is suitable for ages 14 and up.
