The Easton Public Library has chosen “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult as its 2021 One Book/One Town Community Read. The novel, published in 2016, includes themes of race, privilege, prejudice, justice, and compassion.

“For this year’s pick, we wanted to choose something that would tie in with what is going in our country right now,” said Library Director Lynn Zaffino. “This books taps into the themes of racism and social justice, and Jodi Picoult is a popular author whose work resonates with many people.”

Themed programs will be planned for January through April, including a book discussion. The library also hopes to collaborate with the Easton Diversity and Inclusion Task Force to present related programming.

Copies of the book are expected to be available by late December.
