The public is invited to attend a free virtual panel discussion this evening, Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 7-8 p.m. organized by the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University. The panel includes state Senator Tony Hwang, a Republican, who represents Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston and Westport; state Senator Marilyn Moore, a Democrat, who represents Bridgeport, Monroe and Trumbull; and Kate O’Gara, Professor of Political Science. Moderator is Professor Gary Rose, chairman of the Department of Government.

Tonight’s presentation is part of the American Democracy Under Siege panel discussion series, motivated by the events at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. The series will be taking a multidisciplinary approach along the themes of justice, truth, politics, history, law and order, media and multiculturalism. The event can be streamed live at the following link: www.sacredheart.edu/undersiegeextremism (or https://youtu.be/YAFMZVZrHk4).
