Board of Selectmen Meeting Recap

The Board of Selectmen meeting on Oct. 7 included several appointments to boards and commissions including:

  • Benjamin Lehberger to the Board of Ethics (term ending 1/2/2022)
  • Jeff Borofsky as an alternate to the Easton Energy & Environment Task Force
  • Vincent Mase to the EMS Commission (term ending 1/2/2022)
  • Alison Sternberg moved from an alternate to a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission (term ending 1/2/2023)

The board received a recommendation from the Republican Town Committee to fill a vacancy on the Park & Recreation Commission, but the first selectman asked to delay the appointment because the Democratic Town Committee would like to find a candidate as well.

The board also updated the job description for the administrative assistant to the first selectman so it can be posted and the position filled.

First Selectman David Bindelglass provided an update on the municipal mask mandate. He says the mandate will be lifted after the town has two consecutive weeks in the yellow rating on the state’s COVID-19 Municipal Alert Level. The state updates the numbers every Thursday.

Selectman Bob Lessler participated in the meeting via Zoom. He was out of state visiting family and introduced his first grandchild during board member comment.
