Editor’s note: The Easton Courier asked candidates to submit a profile and a statement discussing three top issues facing Easton and how the candidate will help address them. Mark Mulvaney, Republican candidate for Board of Finance, submitted the following response.

Profile
Mark Mulvaney is a lifelong Connecticut resident, raised in Ridgefield. He is the Vice President of Mulvaney Mechanical Inc., a family business that has operated for nearly four decades. He was elected to serve on Brookfield’s Board of Finance and the Inland Wetlands Commission.
Mulvaney is married to his wife Genevieve, with whom he has identical twin boys. Both are students at Helen Keller Middle School and active with Easton Baseball.
Statement
Mulvaney is running for Easton’s Board of Finance to help keep taxes at an appropriate level while ensuring that Easton has the capital it needs to continue to thrive.
“While Easton seems to be on the right track, we need solid Republican leaders in all of the top roles to accomplish this.”
Funding for our schools, balancing taxes and ensuring Easton remains a small town are priorities for Mulvaney. Statewide, Mulvaney believes there are too many restrictions on businesses, excessively high taxes and misplaced priorities with 8-30g.
