Greiser’s Coffee & Market is more than just a local favorite coffee spot–it’s a community hub dedicated to creating bonds and celebrating local talent. Adrienne Burke, store owner, has created a haven for residents to gather and honor accomplishments, exchange life lessons and create meaningful connections.

“As I was meeting people through the store, I started to realize how many fascinating people were in town,” said Burke. “I felt like it’s our job as a local community coffee shop to connect people and bring the community together.“

“Local Wisdom” is an after-hours event series hosted at Greiser’s that provides a platform for the community to engage with accomplished residents through lectures and conversations and with an assortment of delicious foods and beverages for patrons.

“Learning is something everyone still wants to do when they are older, and there aren’t that many options when you are a grown up and out of school,” said Burke.

Industrial Designer Steve Cozzolino, a key member in the team that created the Swiffer and many other now common household products, was the speaker for a community gathering held on March 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

“There’s a wisdom in sharing the journey to get to where you are,” said Cozzolino. “I have a lot of learning experiences, and I’ve worked with some amazing icons in the design industry. I learned from them and want to take what I’ve learned and share that.”

The Belfast Blazers” by Mike Evans

On April 11, Tammy Nguyen, a painter, printmaker and writer recognized in the New York Times, will delve into her artistic process, upcoming exhibitions and life in Easton. Following Nguyen’s presentation, on May 8, Mike Evans, a coach, author, and leader in the nonprofit sector, will share his experiences playing and coaching basketball in Northern Ireland. Then, in July, journalist and author Dan Slater will reveal his journey of researching and recounting the origins of America’s immigrant underworld.

Each event, scheduled from 6 to 7:30 pm, will include refreshments consisting of small bites and beverages, all for a $20 ticket price. Due to limited seating, advanced registration is required, with patrons welcome to bring their beverages. For those interested in staying informed about upcoming events, subscribing to the Greiser’s Flying A email newsletter is recommended. Visit the Local Wisdom website for more details and to register for any event.

“From these events I hope people can learn and understand what motivates other people and what they do; understanding helps us respect each other more,” said Burke. “There’s no end to the potential candidates. We just hope to keep bringing people together in the future.”
