The Easton Public Library Board of Trustees has announced Linda Dollard as this year’s recipient of the Anne Lindquist Library Spirit Award. The award is presented annually to an individual who has made a lasting impact on the library through volunteering. It is named after the late Anne Lindquist, who was instrumental in advocating for the construction of the current library building.

Dollard served on the Library Board of Trustees from November 2017 through July 2022, serving as vice chair for a portion of her tenure. She also served on the Library Building Committee established in 2017 to plan the Children’s Expansion project. Linda became involved with the Easton Library after attending its children’s programs with her granddaughters.
Her tenure on the Library Board was marked by successful initiatives, such as: planning the Children’s Expansion project; guiding the library through re-opening during the COVID-19 pandemic; and approving an updated five-year strategic plan for the library.
Dollard’s volunteer service isn’t limited to the library. She was a longtime member of the Easton Democratic Town Committee and the Commission for the Aging, a loyal supporter of the Easton Learning Foundation, and an assistant girls’ softball coach for the town’s middle school team. She was also an instrumental part of the Easton Senior Center Building Committee, helping to establish that resource as a first in Easton. In addition, she served on the initial Tax Relief for the Elderly Task Force and the South Park Senior Housing Task Force, and she was a trained election official.
Professionally, Dollard spent 30 years as an award-winning specialist in the identification and resolution of comprehensive early childhood development issues and elementary school psychology administration.
A reception will be held to honor Dollard on Sunday, June 2 from 3-5 p.m., with an award presentation at 4 p.m., on the library’s back patio (weather permitting). In case of inclement weather, the reception will be held in the library community room. The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. If interested in attending, please RSVP to Lynn Zaffino, library director, at lzaffino@eastonlibrary.org or by calling 203-261-0134 by May 20.
