This afternoon with clippers in hand, I spent time thigh-high in scratchy grasses among the sunflowers in the field at Samuel Staples Elementary School. Word has gotten around the pollinator world, and happy bees and white butterflies ignored me while doing their work.

I chatted with some grandparents and their little one and two other women who were heading from the field with stunning bouquets of gold and deep burgundy. None of us knew each other, but how can you not connect with others in such glorious surroundings? All of us were beaming at this beautiful gift from the Silvermans and the solidarity with Ukraine it represents.

Thank you, Irv and Nancy!
