On Friday, November 22, over 600 students, faculty, staff and parents will participate in Notre Dame Prep’s 16th annual Service Day. Rooted in positivity and compassion, this yearly endeavor is the hallmark of the school’s 26 Acts of Kindness campaign.

This year, volunteers will visit 50 different work sites in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties. Students who remain on campus will complete their act of service by designing crafts for nursing home residents and military service members.

Volunteer sites include: Binky Patrol (Monroe-Trumbull), City of Bridgeport Parks & Recreation Department — Seaside Park cleanup, City of West Haven Parks & Recreation Department — West Haven Beach Cleanup, Congregation of Notre Dame Retired Sisters (Easton), Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo (Bridgeport), Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (Winsted), Fairfield Senior Center (Fairfield), Habitat for Humanity (New Haven), Homes for the Brave (Bridgeport), Kind Works (Bethel), Mozaic Jewish Home (Bridgeport), New Covenant Food Pantry (Stamford), Nourish Food Pantry (Bridgeport), Ruth’s House (Shelton), Sterling House Community Center (Stratford) and St. Vincent Medical Center (Bridgeport).

Schools and parishes that volunteers will visit include: Curiale School, Discovery Magnet School, Hall School, St. Augustine School, St. Catherine of Sienna School, St. Catherine Academy, Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. Mark School.

“Service Day is a beloved celebration of kindness and generosity here at Notre Dame Prep,” said Director of Campus Ministry Jessica Medoff. “It is wonderful to see our Lancer family come together to make a real difference in the community year after year.”
