A recent resignation has left a vacancy on the Easton Board of Finance. The opening is for a full member voting position (not an alternate member), and is limited to an individual who is registered as a Republican or an Independent/Unaffiliated voter. State law requires that the new member cannot be a registered Democrat due to minority representation requirements. The six-member board currently has four Democrats and one Republican.

The term is for 11 months extending until November 2025. The appointed person can choose whether or not to run for the seat for a full six-year term during the November 2025 election.

Anyone interested  in being considered for the position should submit their name and résumé/experience information to Art Laske, finance board chairman, c/o the Easton Town Clerk: townclerk@eastonct.gov on or before Friday, Jan. 3 at 5  p.m.

The Board of Fiance will likely vote on the replacement during its next regular meeting on Tuesday Jan. 7, 2025.
