A Naugatuck woman working as a healthcare aide in the home of an Easton resident is facing multiple charges in connection with alleged theft and credit card fraud, according to the Easton Police Department.

Police allege that Jamie Lynne Darouse, 34, took a check from her patient’s residence and deposited it into her personal bank account. Authorities say this resulted in a warrant for her arrest. Following further investigation, police obtained a second arrest warrant after discovering that Darouse had allegedly taken three credit cards belonging to the same victim and incurred more than $10,000 in charges during December 2024.

Investigators also allege that Darouse attempted to open financial accounts using the victim’s personal identity information.

Darouse was charged with fifth-degree larceny and faces additional charges including second-degree larceny, identity theft and illegal use of a payment card. According to police, she is currently on probation following a previous conviction for unrelated offenses.

She turned herself in to Easton Police and was processed on March 10, 2025. She has since been released after posting bond and was scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2025.
