Easton’s Ukraine Aid International steering committee is launching a series of bi-weekly updates on Easton’s sister city Sviatohirsk as it continues to repair and rebuild. The updates will focus mainly on the human aspects of life today in Sviatohirsk and are intended to complement UAI’s on-going fundraising efforts.

In the last two years, Easton has generously funded a dump truck, fresh drinking water, wood pellets heating fuel, and most recently, generators.

Future updates will feature:

1. Highlights of a live call with Mayor Volodymyr Rybalkin and First Selectman Dave Bindelglass and their respective townsfolk, sharing Easter traditions in Sviatohirsk and in Easton
2. Update on Easton’s donations to purchase generators
3. Interview with Bindelglass to discuss his friendship with Rybalkin and Bindelglass’s first and lasting impressions of his trip to Sviatohirsk two years ago
4. A tour of Sviatohirsk, and more

The next update that will present a description of how Easter is celebrated in Ukraine.

In the meantime, you can always make a donation to support Easton’s sister city today. Please be sure to indicate that your donation is designated for Sviatohirsk.
