The Lions Club of Easton will host its 60th annual Halloween Bonfire and Costume Contest on Friday, Oct. 30, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the soccer fields south of Samuel Staples Elementary School on Morehouse Road.
The free event, held at the same location as last year, is open to all ages and will feature music, doughnuts, cider, apples and a bonfire that typically reaches up to 30 feet high.
Keith Lobdell of Just a Song Entertainment will serve as emcee and provide music, while Todd Bires will handle lighting. Tony Spinelli will donate doughnuts, and Jake Canover of Silverman’s Farm will provide apples and cider and construct the bonfire.
The Easton Fire Department, Easton Police Department and Easton Emergency Medical Services will oversee the bonfire.
Prize ribbons will be awarded in three costume categories including the funniest, prettiest and most original across five age groups ranging from 2-year-olds to adults.
The Lions Club of Easton was founded April 19, 1967.
