The skies above Easton will light up this weekend as the community gathers at Samuel Staples Elementary School for a fireworks display hosted by Easton Volunteer EMS on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The annual event will kick off at 5 p.m., with fireworks beginning at sunset. Attendees can look forward to a DJ and local food trucks offering delicious food.
Tickets cost $40 per car and can be purchased online or upon arrival. Walk-in tickets will cost $10 per person and will be available for purchase upon arrival at the gate.
Proceeds will support the remodel of the Easton EMS headquarters, which is currently under construction. The project aims to address nearly a century of wear and tear.
“The EMS building is a hundred-year-old building that has never seen an ounce of work in one hundred years,” said EMS Chief Jon Arnold.
The yearly fireworks display began in 2020, when COVID-19 precautions were in place.
“We started this during social distancing,” Arnold said. “No one could go anywhere or do anything, but they could sit in their car and enjoy the fireworks.”
Now an annual tradition, this Saturday marks the fifth year of the event.
In the event of poor weather, the festivities will take place Sunday, Sept. 7.
