Christ Church Easton is inviting residents to take part in a series of holiday events throughout December.
The celebrations begin Saturday, Dec. 6, with a visit from St. Nicholas at 3:30 p.m. at the Christ Church Nursery School. Guests will be offered cookies and refreshments. Reservations can be made by calling 203-268-0792.
Immediately afterward, the church will hold its annual tree lighting, bonfire and caroling at 5 p.m. Hot chocolate will be served by the Boy Scouts, and a bake sale will benefit children on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly, wear boots and bring a flashlight. Church leaders thanked Easton Arborists for installing the holiday lights.
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 24, the church is collecting diapers and wipes for nOURish Bridgeport, a nonprofit serving food-insecure families. A donation bin will be placed outside the church’s front entrance.
Christ Church will conclude the month with its traditional Christmas pageant at 4 p.m. on Dec. 24. Parish children and adults will reenact the Nativity story, accompanied by live animals, carols and a performance by the church choir.
