With Christmas just days away, Easton’s Christmas tree farms are still welcoming shoppers who haven’t yet picked out a tree, or who are making a second trip later in the season. Local farms say there are trees still available, making Easton a reliable destination even as the holiday countdown accelerates.

Easton holds the distinction of being the Christmas Tree Capital of Connecticut, a title that reflects both the number of working tree farms in town and the deep agricultural roots that continue to shape the community. Each season, families from Easton and beyond visit local farms as part of a tradition that blends holiday preparation with supporting local agriculture.

That designation was marked earlier this month at a news conference in front of Town Hall, where town and state officials gathered to recognize Easton’s farmers and their long-standing role in preserving the town’s agricultural landscape. Speakers emphasized the importance of buying local, noting that many historic farms across Connecticut have closed in recent years amid rising costs and the ongoing challenges of maintaining working farmland.

“Recognizing Easton as Connecticut’s Christmas Tree Capital shines a deserved spotlight on these farms, but our support must continue long after the holiday season ends,” said state Sen. Tony Hwang. “These farms are a gateway into a world of environmental stewardship and possibilities.”

To help residents and visitors find what’s still open, the Easton Garden Club has published its Holiday Edition of the Easton Farm Map, which highlights Christmas tree farms and stands, as well as local markets and eateries operating during the holiday season.

While some farms operate on reduced schedules this late in the season, many continue to offer fresh-cut trees, wreaths and other holiday greenery. Availability and hours vary, and shoppers are encouraged to check with individual farms before visiting.

The following Christmas tree farms and stands are among those featured on the Easton Garden Club’s Holiday Farm Map:
