The Easton Public Library has a great lineup of adult programs in January and February. Join us to chase away the winter blues!

On Sunday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m., local author and career coach Cathy Alfandre will be here to discuss her new book, “Breaking Free from a Malignant Manager: Strategies to Reclaim Your Confidence & Career.” If you’re struggling with a difficult or destructive manager, you’re not alone. Join her for a discussion of this pervasive problem and practical strategies to survive and thrive again. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Registration is recommended. Alfandre is a certified career coach and resume writer who serves as a practical and collaborative partner to those seeking greater fulfillment in their work.

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit but thought it would be too difficult? On Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. Knitting Without Needles will be presented by Dawn, The Stitching Coach. Beginners and experts alike will enjoy the fast and fun knitting technique of arm knitting. At the end of the in-person an hour program, participants will be able to cast on, knit and bind off an infinity scarf. This program is open to adults and teens, and registration is required.

The library’s Classic Film Series continues on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. with a screening of the 1934 film “Twentieth Century” starring John Barrymore and Carole Lombard, and directed by Howard Hawks. This film series is hosted by local film historian Jon Sonneborn and co-sponsored by the Easton Arts Council. Registration is not required.

Acclaimed local author Dan Slater will present The Art and Craft of Storytelling – For Writers and Nonwriters. It will be held in two sessions Sunday, Feb. 1 and March 1 from 1 -2:30 p.m. Slater will convey the essential principles of the storytelling trade, and help budding storytellers of all ages and backgrounds transform their raw ideas into gripping narratives. Looking to de-clutter your closets and your life? Attend the first ever Clothing and Accessory Swap on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 1-3 p.m. Trade in your unused items for new treasures and go home with a whole new wardrobe. Feel free to bring in clothing, jewelry, outerwear, scarves, belts, ties, purses, etc. Registration is not required.

The Library will host an Estate Planning workshop, presented by USA Financial & Tax Services on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. This program will show you how to optimize your money while you’re alive and ultimately pass on what matters with clarity and peace of mind. Sandwiches will be served. Registration is recommended.

Winter One Book/One Town Community Read book discussion will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m., with a virtual visit from author Anika Fajardo, the author of “The Many Mothers of Dolores Moore,” the library’s winter title. Multiple copies of the book will be available for checkout at the Library, beginning later this month. Registration is recommended for this book discussion.

Save the date for the Spring discussion of The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb, with a virtual visit from the author on March 21 at 2 p.m. The One Book/One Town Community Read series is sponsored by the Friends of the Easton Public Library.
