Annual Fall Festival at St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church

St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church celebrates its 99th anniversary with its annual Fall Festival on church grounds. Come experience hand-made food delicacies passed down from generation to generation. Inside the church hall, visitors will find authentic favorites like; sarmale (stuffed cabbage), tava di pesti (baked fish with tomato-onion sauce), spinach pita, grilled leg of American lamb on rotisserie, and galina fripta (chicken with special sauce), and mittitei (homemade sausage). The ever-popular pastry booth offers specialties such as; baklava, kadaifi, koulourakia, gallactiburrico, sweet bread, and more. Beer, wine, and beverages will also be available. Patrons can dine-in or take-out. Patrons can participate in the raffle, Take-a-Chance auction, cake walks, and enjoy seeing old friends. Church tours to view the extensive Byzantine iconography are also available during festival hours. Music, ethnic dancing, and children’s games and activities will be available on Saturday, 9/9.
