Eight members of Boy Scout Troop 66 were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Scouting America, during an Eagle Court of Honor held June 14 at Jessie Lee Church.

The new Eagle Scouts are Peter Correa, Robert Sammons, Harlan Lewandowski, Brady Decker, Sawyer Beninati, William Correa, Quintin Haines and Maximilian Unfried.
To earn the Eagle rank, Scouts must complete a series of leadership, service and outdoor requirements, including earning at least 21 merit badges and planning and leading a community service project that benefits others.
Several local and state officials attended the ceremony to recognize the Scouts’ accomplishments, including state Rep. Anne Hughes, First Selectman Dan Lent, Selectman Nicholas D’Addario and state Sen. Tony Hwang.
Many members of Easton Troop 66 will be participating in a backpacking trip at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, as well as attending summer camp at Sequassen Scout Camp this coming summer.
Troop 66 meets Wednesday evenings at Jessie Lee Church in Easton.
