To the Editor:
Ann Hughes, Democrat representing Weston, Easton and Redding in Hartford, is a member of the radical Progressive Caucus. John Shaban, Republican, who previously served three terms in that seat is running against her.
Hughes said in her Oct. 17 debate with Shaban that she favors raising state income taxes, raising capital gains taxes and restoring highway tolls. In addition, she advocated, a “wealth” tax on savings to finance a “fairer” state and “fairer” towns.
John Shaban says that Connecticut’s problem is overspending, not under taxation.
Please join me in voting for John Shaban on Nov. 3.
