The Easton Public Library has been approved for a grant in the amount of $15,950 through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This grant is administered through the Connecticut State Library, Division of Library Development (CSL, DLD).

These funds will be used to improve Wi-Fi access in the building, as well as to extend Wi-Fi access to the Library grounds. The Library also plans to purchase updated outdoor furniture, which will provide an outdoor space for community members to take advantage of connectivity for working, meeting, or doing schoolwork. The Library can also use this outdoor space to conduct more programming.

Finally, the Library will purchase an enclosed work/study pod that accommodates up to two people. This will be installed in the periodicals section, outside of the Conference Room. Since the Library does not currently have a private study room, this pod will serve that purpose. These purchases and enhancements are expected to take place over the next few months.
