Hello, my name is Krista Kot, and I am running for reelection as Easton Tax Collector, a position I’ve held for the past five years. Before being elected to this office, I held other positions in Town Hall, so I’m familiar with a lot of the workings of town government.
I am proud of Easton’s successful tax office, and our team’s hard work that makes it possible. As a Certified Connecticut Municipal Collector (CCMC), a designation achieved through years of training and testing, I am qualified to keep the office running smoothly and effectively. Customer service is integral to the tax collector’s office, and convenience is a large part of that.
To enhance our efficiency, we now offer Easton residents an online payment option, which coincided with COVID and provides taxpayers with a fast and convenient way to pay. In addition, Easton’s tax collection record is excellent: Last year, our 2019 Grand List collection was 99.04% (for reference, anything above 98% is considered excellent).
I’ve lived in Easton since 1998, and my four young adult children all went through its school system. I love the town and am dedicated to its citizens.
If reelected, my experience and professional qualifications, as well as my attention to taxpayers’ needs, would allow the Tax Collector’s office to continue operating effectively and without interruption. I ask for your support on Nov. 2.
