Why did Aquarion cut down 30 to 40 beautiful, healthy 40- to-50- foot tall evergreen white pine trees around their pump house on lower Buck Hill Road in Easton ?

Editor’s Note: Aquarion has taken down approximately 30 trees near the pump station, according to Peter Fazekas, director of corporate communications. “The tree roots were wrapped around our water main and valves. The trees were also very close to our pump station and were dropping limbs. For the safety of our employees and the protection of this essential water infrastructure, the trees had to be removed. In the spring, Aquarion will be planting some new trees,” he said.
