Easton Republicans joined the effort to help fund the care of our town’s police dog, TJ.
Selectman Kristi Sogofsky and Planning & Zoning Commission Chair Ray Martin presented K9 Officer Tamra French with a check for $570. The money was donated during the December meeting of the Easton Republican Town Committee.
“TJ is a remarkable asset to our community and to our neighbors. We’re happy to help make sure he has the best care and training possible,” said Sogofsky.
The Easton Police K9 unit is funded solely through donations that help pay for TJ’s food, veterinary care and training. TJ is a German Shepherd, a breed prized for obedience, intelligence and determination. In Easton, where bodies of water and dense forests provide a challenge to human law enforcement personnel, TJ is a key partner in search and rescue operations: Missing Easton Woman Found Safe.
Team TJ has held fundraisers over the years. They’re currently selling photo tiles featuring pictures of TJ. Past fundraisers have included dog treats made by the Girl Scouts, T-shirts and stuffed animal TJs.
