Easton residents interested in the proposed 2022-2023 school board budget can now access it online as a live digital spreadsheet where changes are made in real time.
“One of our goals this year was to increase transparency and promote public engagement,” Superintendent Dr. Jason McKinnon stated in a letter to Easton staff, families and community members. “In order to accomplish these goals, our budget is completely digital.”
Dr. McKinnon presented his proposed $18.3 million 2022-2023 budget for Easton on Jan. 22, which calls for a 4.45 percent increase over the 2021-2022 budget.
The overall digital spreadsheet and each cost center can be accessed at https://sites.google.com/er9.org/easton-budget/home. This web page includes all of the available budget documents, video of budget presentations, important resources, and forms that can be used to submit questions.
McKinnon said the budget spreadsheet will be continually updated throughout the budget process in the months leading up to Tuesday, May 3, when residents will vote on the final spending plan.
