Christ Church, the Easton Diversity and Inclusion Task Force (EDIT), and the Easton Public Library will host a viewing of “Minari,” the fourth and final film in their Racial Justice Film Series on Thursday, May 11 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Easton Public Library. The film is an opportunity to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander month. The viewing is free and open to all.

An Academy Award nominee for Best Picture, “Minari” recounts a Korean-born couple’s relocation to Arkansas, with the dream of starting their own farm. The film documents their struggles to establish a home for the couple’s two American–born children. The family endures financial hardship, cultural isolation, racial tensions, and a challenging assimilation into American life.
“Easton Public Library has been pleased to offer this series to the town of Easton,” noted Library Director Lynn Zaffino. “We look forward to our May 11 viewing and encourage the community to join us.”
“What better way to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander month than by coming together to watch this beautiful and touching film, a snapshot into the oft overlooked story of Asian and Asian American agricultural workers pursing the American dream,” said Rev. Ally Brundige.
