Easton voters are part of the more than 300,000 residents in Connecticut who participated in the first week of early voting.
With a week to go before the general election, 1,314 Easton voters have cast their ballots early, according to Dori Wollen, the town Republican registrar of voters.
“Twenty three percent of the total registered voters in Easton took advantage of this new law,” said Wollen.
Early voting began on Oct. 21 and will continue through Sunday, Nov. 3 in the Easton Public Library Community Room from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. most days and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct 31.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5 the election will be held at the Samuel Staples Elementary School’s cafetorium from 6 a.m. through 8 p.m.
Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas highlighted the success of Connecticut’s first-ever early voting system for a general election in a press release. She stated that she was proud to share “that voters around Connecticut report a smooth roll-out for the first-ever early voting period for a general election.”
