The Easton Public Library will offer a variety of programs for adults in September, including Mah-Jongg, crafts, films, book clubs and Scrabble.

Due to the popularity of the library’s Mah-Jongg Open Play program, a two-part beginner Mah-Jongg class will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 16 and 23. Experienced Mah-Jongg instructor Chris Taylor will lead the classes. Participants are asked to bring a Mah-Jongg set if they have one.

The library’s Mah-Jongg Open Play will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The library will launch Adult Crafternoons, a new monthly craft program, at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17. During the inaugural session, participants will create a picture using sea glass.

Also on Sept. 17, the library’s annual Classic Film Series will begin with a screening of “Foreign Correspondent” at 7 p.m. The film, starring Joel McCrea and Laraine Day, was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. McCrea’s son, Peter McCrea, will discuss the film and his father.

Film historian and Easton resident Jon Sonneborn will facilitate the program, which is co-sponsored by the Easton Arts Council. Registration is not required.

The library’s two adult book clubs will also meet Thursday, Sept. 17. The Year of Wonders Historical Fiction Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. to discuss “The Eights” by Joanna Miller. The Beyond Reading Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. to discuss “The City of Falling Angels” by John Berendt. New members are welcome.

The monthly Scrabble Club will meet from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
