A 24-year-old man was seriously injured after falling from the roof of a home in Easton on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Easton Police Department.

Police said dispatchers received a call at 12:13 p.m. reporting that a person had fallen from the roof of a residence on Everett Road. Dispatchers provided emergency instructions over the phone and alerted Easton Volunteer EMS, Easton police and Easton fire officials. The closest available paramedic from Trumbull was also dispatched, police said.

The first officer on scene found the man unconscious on a back deck and not breathing normally, police said. EMS and fire crews arrived shortly afterward, provided medical care and extricated the man from the property through what police described as a large volume of recent snowfall.

He was transported to a local trauma center with serious injuries. His condition was not immediately available.

The Easton Police Department said it is investigating the incident in conjunction with Conn OSHA.
