Christ Church has announced its schedule of services and activities for the Easter season, inviting the public to participate in several traditional observances.
Palm Sunday will be observed March 29 during the church’s 9:30 a.m. Eucharistic service, led by the Rev. Katy Piazza. The service will begin outdoors with the distribution of fresh palm branches. Once inside the church, parishioners will present a reading of the Passion of Christ, portraying witnesses to the trial, procession to Calvary and crucifixion. A coffee hour with baked goods will follow the service.
On April 2, a Maundy Thursday Agape meal and Holy Eucharist will be held at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Weston. A Good Friday service, including Stations of the Cross, is scheduled for noon April 3 at Christ Church.
Easter Sunday will be celebrated April 5 with a 9:30 a.m. service led by Piazza. The service will include a special choir performance. Following the service, children will take part in the church’s traditional Easter egg hunt, and attendees are invited to stay for a light Easter brunch.
Both the Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday services will be streamed live on Facebook. A Facebook account is not required to view the broadcast.
Christ Church is located at the intersection of Church Road and Route 59. Emmanuel Episcopal Church is located at 285 Lyons Plains Road in Weston. For more information about Christ Church and its programs, visit the church online.
