No Country for Mothers – Film & Discussion

What does it really mean to be a mother in America today?
Join us for a screening of No Country for Mothers, an unflinching look at the culture wars surrounding American motherhood—and an exploration of the issues that unite moms across the country.
Following activist Reshma Saujani, the film explores how the “girl boss” and “trad wife” labels ultimately distract us from the real issue: the lack of support for American families. Through personal stories, the film explores the challenges of balancing work and family, finding affordable childcare, navigating healthcare and carrying the unseen demands of caregiving.
Come watch the 75-minute film and stay for a moderated discussion afterward. Our moderators are mothers and Redding residents Kat Sabath and Jess Tyson.
This is a space for people to watch, connect, and talk honestly about motherhood. This event is not just for moms —partners, grandparents, educators, anyone who knows and loves a mom will gain and offer something in this conversation.
