With school closed for two weeks and likely not to open for the remainder of the school year, den leaders Beverly Pettersen and Bob Natt of Cub Scout Wolf Den 1 organized a Zoom den meeting for the Cub Scouts. With minor modifications the boys were able to complete the requirements for the Call of the Wild belt loop. For example, instead of completing an outdoor activity together each boy did it with his family.
The meeting took place on March 26 with all the boy participating and in their uniforms. Since the boys hadn’t seen each other for two weeks they had a lot fun talking about what they have been doing since school closed. All the boys are in the second grade at Samuel Staples Elementary School and include Lucas Becker, Sawyer Beninati, Maxwell Borofsky, Peter Correa, Cody Lee, Samuel Pettersen and Zevi Bush.
The meeting was a huge success and everyone agreed that the Zoom meetings should continue until we are able to get together again as a group.
