William Borofsky, 71, of Surfside Beach, SC (formerly of Easton, CT) passed away on July 13, 2020 of natural causes. He was born to Cele and Leonard Borofsky on July 7, 1949 in Bridgeport, CT. William graduated from Joel Barlow High School, Redding, CT in 1968 and went on to become a member of the Pipefitter Union.
He was an active member of the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, where he held both roles of Chief and President during his tenure. He was married to Laura Borofsky in 1996. He lived with Laura in Ridgefield, CT prior to retiring to Surfside Beach, SC.
William is survived by his wife, Laura, of Surfside Beach, SC; his ex-wife, Betty Aubin, and their children, Amy Merriman and husband, Paul Merriman, of Monroe, CT and their two daughters Lindsey and Alison, and Jeffrey Borofsky, and wife, Beth Natt, of Easton, CT, and their four children, Amber, Lillian, Sydney and Maxwell. He is also survived by his step-son Sean Reagan and wife Weizi Zhang of Palo Alto, California. He is also survived by his brother Marvin Borofsky and his wife, Ellen Borofsky.
William was known for his zany wit, love of golf and tropical shirts, commitment to the Easton Volunteer Fire Department and the Easton Carnival, and his active participation with the Masonic Lodge.
A private ceremony will be conducted for the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Easton Volunteer Fire Department memorial fund in his name.
