Chief Ricard Doyle has issued an alert to residents that power may be interrupted as a result of an accident which occurred on Sport Hill Road north of Wimbledon Road.
Easton Police, Fire and EMS responded when a late model SUV struck the telephone pole on Sport Hill Road. The driver was treated at the scene and refused medical attention. There was damage to the front end of the vehicle.
“The timing could not be worse,” said Doyle, “and we want to make sure people are alerted to the cause of this power outage. It is not part of a wider power failure.”
First Selectman Bindelglass and Val Buckley are also alerting those in the area.
“The pole will have to be replaced, so some residents will lose power late afternoon or tonight. We expect the repair to be completed this evening,” Doyle said.
“Our goal is to reassure and calm residents’ nerves,” Doyle said.
