Experts are predicting a dangerous convergence of both COVID-19 and the flu in the fall, so national healthcare professionals are urging everyone, especially seniors, to get flu shots.

The Easton Senior Center will offer flu shots to adults of all ages on Wednesday, Oct. 7, by appointment only, at its 650 Morehouse Road location. The flu shot clinic will open at 6:45 a.m. and remain open all day.

CVS will offer both strengths of the flu serum; the stronger version is recommended for people 65 and older and those who are more susceptible to the flu. Most insurance plans cover the cost, but those without insurance can pay $60 for the regular strength or $90 for the stronger version.

“This year we’ll be doing things a little differently,” said Val Buckley, senior center executive director. “We will send the required forms beforehand to reduce the amount of time people spend getting vaccinated.” Masks and social distancing directives will be enforced.

Reservations are accepted by phone: 203-268-1145. No walk-ins will be admitted. It is advisable to book an appointment as soon as possible because 250 Shots have already been reserved.
